ABOUT

Summer Bridge Tutoring is designed to reinforce concepts learned over the past year, while introducing concepts to be taught next year. Mr. Lorie will work with students entering 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade (including Algebra 1 and Geometry). The program is intended to be both educational and fun. It is not simply drill and kill for 45 minutes … material will be presented through games and interactive problem solving will be a part of each session. Groups will generally consist of 10 - 20 students and will meet for 45 minutes, on Zoom, every other week throughout the summer. This will help combat the “summer setback” … the regression that can occur over the summer as students forget some of what they learned from the previous year. In addition, we will utilize front-loading … introducing students to a variety of topics so that they will have an initial grasp of the material when they are re-presented with it during the academic year. Included in weekly packets will be Common Core Tasks similar to those that students will work on during the academic year.
