This one week camp for incoming first, second, and third graders, will help foster a love of writing following the The Reading and Writing Project workshop model.  Focusing on fun and engaging lessons and activities, Mrs. Lorie will expose students to hands-on and active ways to brainstorm writing topics, strategies to help overcome “writers block,” ways to elaborate and expand ideas, all while writing in the genres emphasized in the Common Core Standards:  Narrative, Informational (nonfiction), and Opinion pieces.  Students will work in small groups and one-on-one with the teacher, to help develop their individual skill sets.  All writing materials will be provided, and students will leave the camp with fun and kid-friendly writing supplies to continue their writing development over the summer.  A maximum of 12 students ensures lots of individual attention.

To reserve a slot in one of the camp sessions, please email Amanda Lorie at ablorie@comcast. net.   In the Subject Line of the email, please denote "Summer Writing Camp."  Thank you!
